A man working in New York City, frustrated by the cutthroat atmosphere and lack of kindness he often witnessed, created the acronym FIOFO “Fit In Or Fuck Off” as a reminder to himself, and others, about the importance of treating everyone with respect and compassion. In a world known for its harsh realities, he wanted to promote a simple rule; if you’re not willing to be kind, inclusive, and considerate to those around you, then you’re not contributing to a positive environment. FIOFO became his way of setting boundaries, encouraging a culture where people were expected to treat each other with dignity, no matter their status or background. It was his call for kindness to be the standard, and if someone couldn’t follow that, they should leave.
